ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS SISWA MTs DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL CERITA RELASI DAN FUNGSI

Abstract

This study aims to answer the formulation of questions raised about how the level of mathematical problem solving ability of grade VIII students in solving story problems in relation and function material The method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach.  The technical data analysis used is reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the problem-solving ability of students with high categories was able to understand problems well, and were able to plan problem solving. However, students with high categories are less careful at the stage of planning problems and re-examining problems on the problems they do. However, with students in the category of being less thorough in doing the questions they are doing, they are not able to understand the problem, plan the problem, and re-examine the answers. Students with low categories have not been able to meet every indicator of solving mathematical problems. The presentation results of the student test results based on the Polya Step are (1) understanding the problem 55.56%, (2) making a completion plan 16.67%, (3) implementing the plan 66.67%, (4) and re-examining 44.4%
