PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBING PROMPTING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIS DITINJAU DARI SELF EFFICACY SISWA SMP

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in the ability to understand concepts in terms of self-efficacy between students who receive probing prompting learning models and students who receive conventional learning models. Conceptual understanding is a situation where students find and prove a concept themselves without the memorization process. The research method used Quasi Experimental with a nonequivalent control group design with a research sample consisting of two classes. The results of the study showed that the pretest results obtained an average value of 20.00 and the average pretest results 45.67, while the posttest results showed that the average value in the experimental class was 79.67 while the average value in the control class was 63.00. Based on the average posttest score, both groups experienced a significant increase, especially in the experimental class which experienced a very significant change. The resultshow that mathematical concept understanding ability of students who received learning using the probing prompting model in terms of self-efficacy was better than the mathematical concept understanding ability of students who used conventional learning models. The conclusions from the results that is there is an increase in the mathematical concept understanding ability of students using the Probing Prompting learning model
